Car Stereo (Wars) return to Texas for the first show back in the lonestar state since the big Lollapolooza show. Rest assured some excellent Bun B will be in the mix. Tonight’s show is FREE and features Andy (the Mouth) from Austin who is sure to warm up the stage and share some tasty aural treats. This FREE show is going down at Boondocks and from what I can tell about Houston- this is the place to be tonight.

cs(w) lolla recap on austinist
Adi Anand from Austinist put up his day three recap from this year’s Lollapalooza HERE and did a great job of hitting the nail on the head for the Car Stereo (Wars) performance. Check it: “The unyielding Sun might have deflated a few but the majority of the audience sweated heartily to remixes, samples, and mash-ups of everything from MGMT to Joy Division to Daft Punk and bits ‘n’ pieces of the themes from The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Ghostbusters. And Michael Jackson. Plenty of Michael Jackson.“

car neiliyo wars rocks lolla
The Chicago dust has more or less settled and we are back in Texas after the great experience at Lollapolooza. Car Stereo Wars rocked it with The Hood Internet, MoneyPenny and Neiliyo at the Hideout on Thursday night. Everyone in the place was eating up the dirty south samples. It got so sweaty that the bar almost ran out of Old Style and Hamm’s.
For the actual Lolla performance Car Stereo Wars teamed up with a gang of foxes, gnomes (why not) and recruited Neiliyo as a hype man. The resulting supergroup was none other than Car Neiliyo (Wars). The stage was packed with excited boys and girls who were way more energetic for 1:30 on a Sunday than they probably should be, but I guess that is what Car Neiliyo Wars can do to a festival. Check out the first round of photos from friend of Artifact Workshop: Jacqueline Thompson. See more on the CS(W) MySpace HERE.
antecedapalooza
Chicago bound this week? Be sure to catch some of Artifact Workshops favs at a Lolla kick off party Thursday night at the Hideout!
The Hood Internet has the home court advantage along with the lovely ladies of MoneyPenny. Neiliyo is one of Austin’s most impressive new sun glassed faces on the scene and is the final running to play a spot on a big stage thanks to the power of internet democracy? Will he take the gold and get the glory? We think so. This show will most likely be a victory lap. Car Stereo (Wars) will be laying down the paradoxical beats as a warm up for his official Lollapalooza set he will be performing Sunday August 9th at 1:30pm on the DJ stage. Be sure to add that slot to your schedule HERE.
Get your cheap advance tickets to the Hideout HERE.
See you in the Windy City. There will be plenty of copies of Car Stereo (Wars)’ the Bandit for sale at the festival so be sure to drop by the record store tent and grab a copy with a one of a kind mustache on each and every disk!
